You may not have heard much about the Virginia 250 Preservation Fund Grant that Trinity has been awarded since the announcement in January, but suffice it to say, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes in the way of administrative details, committee organization, contractor coordination, and procedural documentation. Finally, we are delighted to announce that you are about to see and hear a flurry of activity.
Now that the grant agreement has been signed, the first step of the project requires the trimming and removal of several trees which are either growing into the fence, pushing over the brick wall, impeding the path of the handicap ramp, and/or in a dangerous state of decline. Fortunately we have made arrangements with Williams Brothers Tree Company to coordinate with John Boody and Zeb Riley so that some of the wood will be used for church-related projects. More on that in the months ahead!
You will also be hearing and seeing some coverage in the news and in your mailbox as the Generation to Generation Capital Campaign begins. While the grant only requires Trinity to raise $345,000, we have decided that we should be as generous as the state and have set a goal of raising an equal amount of $516,000. The Property Committee is in the process of prioritizing how best to use extra funds for other substantial property needs not covered by the grant.
Thank you for your enthusiasm, encouragement, support and patience as we begin this once in a generation project. More updates will be forthcoming!
