Presiding Bishop Address the Church on July 8

In the aftermath of the shootings of Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, and police in Dallas, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has released to the Episcopal Church a message and a call to prayer.

While it is tempting to make pronouncements, to issue statements, to assign blame, to suggest immediate responses, and the like, I think Bishop Curry has said the most important thing in calling us to remember that we are all children of God, and that we are all created not for violence but for right-relationships active for mutual well-being.

I commend to you our Presiding Bishop’s words.
